Meet Emily Mason – Associate Director of Abrivia’s Multilingual desk and one of our longest serving employees. 🙂
1. What’s one thing you are unbeatable at?
Haha – well to be honest I would be beatable at most things! But I would give people a good run for their money in putting a tent up & down in record time due to being an avid festival goer over the years, I play a mean game of 45 from lessons from my grandmother growing up and I throw a good party from my days in event management!
2. What is your favourite food/meal?
My favourite restaurant in Ireland is an Indian Restaurant called Pickle on Camden Street and I adore their Chicken Biryani!
3. What is something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done yet?
Visit Petra in Jordan. I read a book years ago by Marguerite van Geldermalsen and it has been a place that I wanted to visit since then. Also, the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador are on my bucket list – So little time & so much to do.
4. If you could go to a fictional place, where would you go?
I loved Harry Potter, so a visit to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardary would be interesting to say the least and to get to play a game of Quidditch would top it all off!
5. What’s your biggest fear?
I think my biggest fear as I get a little older would be my health! Your health really is your wealth. I really want to continue living life to the full and continue skiing, hiking, dancing, and having fun for a long time after I retire.
6. If you had a million dollars, what would be the first thing you bought?
A state of the art Camper Van.
7. What’s your most treasured memory?
It’s very hard to pick one! But I think my 40th birthday party at a large Airbnb in Longford with over 70 close friends and family. We rented out the venue and people camped and we had gorgeous weather over a 3-day weekend and a massive bonfire each night. Good company, good music, good food, good chats, and lots of laughs!
8. If you could change places with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Richard Branson – I read his autobiography years ago, he is extremely successful and seems to really enjoy life.
9. What’s your favourite board game?
Articulate.
10. If you were forced to sing karaoke, what song would you choose and why?
“Love Shack” by the B-52’s – great song, gets everyone singing and dancing along. 🙂
