Meet Vicki Weinmann – Associate Director of Abrivia’s Legal desk.
Every month, we engage in an interview with one colleague, posing some intriguing questions to deepen our understanding of them. Now, let’s uncover more about Vicki!
1. What’s the most interesting holiday you have ever had?
I went on a fantastic trip to Vietnam, it was an action packed 14 days where we visited, Hanoi, took a boat and visited the caves of Ha Long Bay, visited the prisoner of war camps in Ho Chi Minh and my highlight was staying in beautiful Hoi An. The people, food and culture were amazing.
2. What is your favourite book you have read?
I love reading so it’s hard to pick a favourite but recently I read a book called “Everyone Here is Lying” by Shari Lapena which is a thriller set in a suburb in America. It had me hooked from the beginning to the end.
3. What is your favourite quote?
If at first you don’t succeed try, try again. I think in life and definitely in recruitment it’s all about resilience. Keeping a positive attitude and keeping going even when things aren’t going your way always pays off in the end.
4. If you could go to a fictional place, where would you go?
I think it would have to be Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, who wouldn’t want to eat a chocolate flower or go on a train in a river of chocolate.
5. If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things would you have?
A container for collecting water, matches for lighting a fire and Bear Grylls to keep me alive.
6. If you could invite 3 celebrities (past or present) to a meal/drink, who would you invite?
George Clooney (because he’s George Clooney), Graham Norton (because he would definitely keep the conversation going) and Deirdre O’Kane (because I think she would be a good laugh and I think we would get on).
7. What did you want to be when you were 10 years old?
God, I can’t remember it was a while ago but probably a famous Hollywood actress.
8. What’s the most embarrassing moment you had in recruitment?
I’ve had a few but one that comes to mind was during an interview when I thought the person, I was interviewing had a double barrelled first name and I referred to her by this throughout the interview. I realised at the end of the interview that the second name was actually her surname. She must have thought I was a bit mad.
9. If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room, what would you choose and why?
Brave by Sara Bareilles
10. Who is someone who inspires you?
I would have to say my Mum, she is in her mid-70’s now but you would never know it. She is very glamorous, plays golf, paints, has joined lots of groups including walking groups and choirs and is always moving forward.
