Meet the Team – Shauna Jordan

As part of our ongoing Meet the Team series, we are thrilled to present Shauna Jordan, Recruitment Consultant specialising in Insurance & Accountancy at Abrivia! Every month, we feature a team member in an engaging interview. Let’s take this opportunity to learn more about Shauna! 🙂

1. Are you a dog or cat person?
I’m a huge animal lover but would have to pick dogs. They can be such funny creatures and give so much unconditional love.

2. What is your favourite quote?
“If you weren’t ready, you wouldn’t have the opportunity” – Sophia Joan Short

3. Who is someone who inspires you?
This is a tough one because it’s usually strangers I come by in everyday life, like when I see an elderly person in the gym absolutely giving it hell, or someone out jogging early on a Saturday morning when it’s lashing rain, the likes of tidy towns volunteers out planting up a nice box in my area or cleaning up litter from the streets etc. I often see people like that and think to myself “fair play to you, love!”

4. What is your favourite genre of music?
For sure, R&B Soul. While technically the King of Pop, Michael Jackson falls into this category for me and would be one of my favourites!

5. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I’m a homebird so not to be boring but, somewhere like Blessington! I love the idea of being so close to the mountains, lakes, lovely green walking trails. Think Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music singing “The Hills Are Alive”, except it’s me in Wicklow with my Jack Russell.

6. What is your most used emoji?
The coffee cup, it’s a twice-daily ritual ☕.

7. If you could change places with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Amy Mae Dolan, one of the lead dancers in Riverdance. It looks like THE most fun job in the world, travelling, dancing your heart out every night on stage to live traditional Irish music, wearing fabulous costumes, and every time I see the show I note how the dancers look like they’re genuinely so excited and happy to be there performing.

8. What is your favourite food/meal?
Generally speaking, anything I don’t have to make myself! I am that person who wrecks the kitchen and uses 10 utensils to make one meal. If I could eat Chinese food every day I absolutely would.

9. You’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with the elephant?
My dog, Milo, would never share me with another pet so I would find their family and release that baby back to the wild! I would of course cry when it has to leave but it would be best for the elephant.

10. What is your favourite hobby?
Gardening for sure. I keep a big collection of indoor and outdoor plants that keep me busy. I do a wellness check on my seedlings each morning to see have any new leaves sprouted. It’s like watching paint dry but more rewarding.
